    Ignition cycles

Hey, have a quick question. When you read a vehicle, and make your change in editor, should you cycle the ignition off then back on before writing it? Ive seen alot of guys do this and not sure why. I always though you left the ignition on all the way until after the write, then cycled it off and back on. What is your take on this, and is it manufacturer specific?

You don't need to have the key on to make changes in the tune if that's what your asking? Key on while reading and writing obviously, other than that there's no need to cycle the key for GM. I believe fords you need to Key cycle but the editor will give you a prompt anyway. Not a bad habit to have
