customer has a 2002 tahoe originally a 5.3/4l60e, now a 5.3/4l65e. he said it doesnt shift on its own, havent witnessed it myself as its in shop for engine work, but I'm assuming it has to be shifted out manually.
Is there any tuning needed for that trans swap?
in a sense they are the same trans, with upgraded internals is my understanding.
any help is appreciated.
I do not think the PCM cares or knows whether it is a 60 or 65!
There shouldn't be any tuning with that swap. No chance you left the VSS unplugged?

It came out of a 03 and went in a 02. Speed sensor is new. Speedometer doesn’t work. Going this weekend to try to get it going. I haven’t personally witnessed the issue yet as they just got the motor going
It will not shift without a speed sensor working.
