    Old school vs New school

Is there any more risk writing tunes or files in with an MPVI1 vs the newer MPVI3? looking at buying an older mpvi1 to do some bench work with, but I do alot of newer vehicles, and dont wanna buy a multi thousand dollar ECU.

    Thanks

I think one thread is good enough, but anyways.

I still use the MPVI, had it since like 2012. I have no current worries with it for what I need it for. I can't use it on a ton of new new vehicles because I use older software on it and will not be upgrading this device to anything newer than what I have now.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Ok, do you need an mpvi1 to use with older versions? I still have 4.8.7, but cant get my mpvi3 to connect to it. Do i need an mpvi1? And if so, where can i get one?

MPVI3 was introduced at the same time as v5.0 so 5.0 or newer is necessary for MPVI3.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
