2011 Ford 5.4 cam lockout kit tuning tips?
I have a friend in another shop that took this truck in needing timing chains. It had no power with high knock counts so he replaced all timing components with OE parts and locked the phasers out. He says he still has the issue of no power. The engine just falls on its face. However says it runs somewhat normal until it gets warm-2-3 miles of driving. He said he called a company that offered a lockout kit with a tuner and they told him it had to be tuned. Is this true? Dealer replaced converters, MAF sensor, Throttle Body, Fuel Pump and several other components that I cant remember. Thanks for any advice.

Is there actual tuning required? He has HPT but isn't good at using technology. If it's as simple as a disable function I could talk him through it but I don't do any tuning? Not asking for anyones secrets just trying to help the guy out.

I'll help you out if you post the tune. There are a few settings in there that need changed. It's no big deal.
