Locking the converter in first gear

Any benefits from locking the converter in 1st gear? Mostly drag race the car, and it has a 4l80 in it.

No. Torque converters don't make their stall speed through plain ol' slip, they multiply torque. Locking the TCC does away with all the torque multiplication.

If it was faster with the TCC locked that's a sure sign something is bad wrong with the combination.
