    Lengthening LC-1 sensor wires

I was wondering if you can lengthen the wires on the LC-1 to make the distance between the WBO2 sensor and the controller longer? With the stock length it puts my controller box in places I really don't want to mount it. I would like to lengthen it a foot or two.

Will this have an effect on the reading?

    Thanks

I would use an oversize wire gauge for the heater
power but everything else shouldn't care. As to
effect on the reading, even "simple" grounding
    has that....

What kind of car you have? With a 6 speed car you can keep the box in the car.

    C5 Vette coupe with a 6 speed

Where do you mount it in the car and how do you pass it into the cabin?

My controller is currently near where the battery is and the wiring passes through the firewall to the cabin by the passenger footwell.

I bought an LM1 cable which is quite long...
clipped off the round multipin and soldered and heat shrank a connector from a bad sensor on it...
    thats my extension

this is the cable I bought and modified..

comes 18ft long...I ended up clipping it back to about 12ft for my uses

I cut a half moon in the shift boot and put the sensor through there. Then if you take it out it flaps up and doesnt leave a hole.
