No way would I try over writing a failed read with a repository file. You need to figure out why you original file failed to read. Maybe it is tuner locked.
If you get to the point that you have to write a new file, I would do it outside of HPT.
Is your ECM the correct service number for the calibration?
Gen 4s really should have the whole OS programmed using GM SPS and the appropriate tools (Tech2/MDI/J2534/etc.). HP Tuners does not write all segments.
Im a Bit lost on what to do because i have never been able to tune my corvette and have tried with diablo sport handheld, and sct handheld and none of them worked.
Weird thing is my car is a 2005 Corvette Ls2 Manual trans vin 1G1YY24U555101994
But reads as 2008 Corvette Ls3 Manual Trans vin 1G1YY25W285100483
Tried to bench read it and it also failed smh
thanks for the replies and suggestions its much apreciate it
2005 & 2008 are completely different ECMs, '05 should be an E40, '08 is an E38. There is no way, not even a wrong way, to put a E38 file into a E40 or vice versa. It just will not work. Has the VIN been changed in the ECM, maybe? With the actual E40 calibration still there? Why would somebody do that?
Im more confuse now from what your saying about the mismatch of ECMs smh
I Dont know why they put a E38 ECM instead of the E40
but honestly thats what it has
sorry for the delay just could not get the images attached to reply
Above the images
Mexico is something not really cordinated
I Bought the car 5 years ago and installed long tubes thats all it runs good btw just want it to get better
thanks 4 the help
Thank for the orientation blindsquirrel
and the time is much apreciate it
below are pictures of the car and the engine
I was planing to try to write calibration on the ecm but have not tried it
I dont want to have a no start
How do you suggest i back it up and or bypass negative response ?
,because it does go up to 100% Before that ,Then fails
i have a silverado 2008 Same ECM and it lets me save and write also when i change vin to the corvette vin it accepts it
Does this mean its compatible can i buy a truck ecm ?
Any ECM with the same Service Number will interchange (after programming, with SPS) with any other ECM of the same Service Number. As long as the Service Number is the correct one for the application (calibration) you want to put on it. Best to always look it up by the VIN you want to program it as, before buying or programming anything. gmpartsdirect.com has a nifty search-by-VIN box right on their main page - there are other clone GM parts sites with the same format but that's the one I use just out of habit.
A 2005 24x LS2 is externally identical to a 2006(-up) 58x LS2, everything except the color of the crank position sensor - black for 24x, gray for 58x.
