    Need help! Replacing L92 with LS3 crate engine 19434644 08 Escalade 2WD

I don't have alot of experience using HP tuners but here is what I want to accomplish:

I am installing a new GM crate engine p/n 19434644 LS3 in my 2008 Escalade 2WD to replace the L92. The crate engine does not have AFM or VVT. The cam specs on the new engine are so close to the stock L92 cam that It shouldn't be a big difference.

I plan on using all the factory L92 dress items on the new engine. The only difference I can see is that the L92 has VVT and the new engine does not. The 08 version of the L92 didn't have AFM so that shouldn't be an issue.

    Questions:

    • Do I need to disable VVT in the tune?
    • Will this swap set cam/crank correlation codes?
    • Will this swap set VVT solenoid hardware codes?
    • Any harm in just turning off the codes?

    Please help!!

Turn off the codes for VVT and AFM. You can set the VVT tables to 0 and select no cam for VVT as well. Once running and no codes set you should perform a crank relearn before dialing in the timing tables and fuel tables.
