Thread: 42lb injectors and 255lph pump

    It helped with the startup, and the car seems to run a lot better. IT still died on me once at idle sitting at a light. I bumped the idle airflow up just a little to see if that fixes it. To fix the startup I added to the startup airflow and friction airflow initital and delay. Was that the right thing to do?

    I never had to mess with the friction airflows, startup yes...

    Sounds like you got it

    Take your Base Running Airflow table and select the whole chart, then do a "+ 1" on all the cells like twice or three times and try that..

    You get what I mean?

    Or is that what you did?

    Also, now does it crank right up, like it should...or does it still need work(hesitant)?

    Oh... in the morning, while it is dead cold.... use this Scanner config and log from cold start to full operating temperature...Leave it in drive while logging after you start it.

    Post up the log..

    BTW: Are these Multec II injectors?
    If so take a look at an 04+ Silverado/Sierra truck or SUV cal for injector offsets, min PW & other as the injectors should have the same basic characteristics. Look especially at an 05+ flex fuel truck or SUV. (VIN8=Z)

    Well I looked at an '05 L59 Flex Fuel file and it shows the min pulsewidth as .851 across the board....that sounds kindof low doesnt it?

    It's currently 1.185...stock tune had 1.27 IIRC...he's been working it back slowly, with results...

    The stock injectors were of a pintel design the Multec's are disc (low mass) so the "operating rate" or open to closed and closed to open is much less thus the min PW value being less. That also allows them to have a more dynamic range. Give those values a try & report back. I think they will be much better than the stock values.

    The more I look at it the more it makes sense...

    Brandon: copy all the injector tables from the tune I attached below except for the FLow Rate...keep that.

    I suspect this will help, I have a few tunes I am looking at with similar setups (383ci and 383ci LSx's) and the numbers are close..

    So i tried that silverado tune.....it ran SUPER LEAN. 20:1 lean. All I ever did was turn the car on. I never drove it with those injector settings. I did finally get the car to idle in drive with my other tune. Now im just messing with the cold start, i think I almost got it!!! The car is running awesome Calvin, thanks for all the help and knowledge, never could have done it without you!

    Cool..I was hoping that the injector data from the newer one would work like mentioned above..I guess we already had it nailed!

    Glad to hear it's running good!

    Hey I go to HRP almost every single Sunday. I'm going to be out there tomorrow, if you ever wanna come out the guys I hang with are pretty cool, lots of nice rides, etc..

    So now every time i go out to start the car it turns over but wont start. If i turn the key back off and then try to start it again then it starts. WTF?? The only thing that I did different was that I went out and screwed around in the car most of the day yesterday. I just dont get it. any thoughts?

    It does it everytime i go to start it, hot or cold.
