    42lb injectors and 255lph pump

What do I need to change in my tune when I put these on? I know I need to change the IFR table, but what values should I use? I bought the delphi/lucas injectors. Also, do I need to change the VE table? I will be doing the injectors and pump satuday afternoon so any help before then would be awesome.

    to get your ifr
    download this spreedsheet http://www.allmod.net/hpt/injectors.xls
once you open it up set your "Injector Rated flow rate" to 42, then copy one of the lines in the "final table" (Pick the line that corresponds to the units you are using) into the "flow rate vs kpa" table in your tune.
When you install the walbro, as long as you set fuel pressure back to 58psi you wont need to change anything else. You may need to tweak the ve table after you change the ifr but otherwise car should be fully drivable

And where exactly do I adjust the fuel pressure? So I dont adjust the VE table at all even though I changing from 28# injectors?

You also need to change the Minimum Pulse Width Table, Injector Offset, etc ... for the fueling to be correct. Just changing the IFR is not suffice. Are these the Ford "green tops"? I can't seem to find the specs for these, as I have a project using them. Would be nice if Ford/Bosch published it.

So what would you guys recommend he set his Min Pulse width to? It's at 1.27 across the board right now, he is going to change it to 1.2 for now...

What about the Injector offset? Im going to search around in the meantime..

As I posted, the injector specs will say what is the minimum pulse width of the injector. Try and find if Delphi has the specs available to the public.

    I found THIS

and the result didnt sound right, but I was just ballparking the numbers. I really dont know where else to look...why dont they just give you a spec sheet with the darn things???

I completely agree with you. The only injector manufacturer that I have found that actually publishes the injectors specs to the public has been Mototron. I am also having a hard time with Bosch.

Well I emailed Delphi but I dont expect anything from them..

I also emailed tech @ Thunder Racing and asked if they might have some info or if they know where I can get it...they have helped me out like that before, I've dealt with them a lot and they have always done what they could...

What are all the other people with 42# Delphis putting in? I know there's got to be tons of people running Delphi's...

As far as the idle issue blue98:

As far as it dying at the stoplight, I have a few ideas on that...I'll PM you as soon as I can..

Let me ask you...would you say it is more likely to die at the stop light cold....or hot?......Or it doesnt matter and the symptom is equally severe no matter the temp?

It will die either way, hot or cold. If I put the car in idle it will stay alive, but I dont want to have to do that at every light

maybe the raf needs to be done as well as the throttle cracker/follower tables. I had a similar issue and raf tuning really helped! Try getting a hold of redhardsupra. He may have the IFR for the delphis.

Open the original tune you had...

Go to Engine > Fuel Control > OL & CL > Open Loop F/A vs Coolant Temp vs MAP.

    Copy that whole table.

Now open your current tune and go to the same spot...paste that whole table into your F/A vs ECT vs MAP table. Your current tune has all 1.0's because you are tuning in Speed Density, and it helps to take that table out of the equation for more accuracy when tuning..Now that you have your tune closer, you can return it to stock..
The new table should not have all 1.0s...it should vary..

    Rewrite Calibration.

Take it for a spin and see if it helps. Let me know

That should help when it's cold...

Im thinking the main thing is you also need to tweak your Idle Airflow table.

Try the above and let me know though...

I cant figure this out. The car will not stay alive at idle when it is in drive. If i put it in neutral it will idle all day long. What can I change? Also I need help with the start. I cant get it to stay running without keeping my foot on the gas for a few seconds. Do i need to mess with the startup delay and decay?

I recieved this email from Delphi:

The best we can do at this point is give the Flow specification from the product print.
    Flow Pulse Width Repetition Rate
    (Grams/sec) (Milliseconds) (Milliseconds)
    0.683 2.0 10.0
    0.945 2.5 10.0
    2.83 6.0 10.0
    5.30 10.0 10.0 Wide open flow

He's right, try slowly raising the Base Idle Running Airflow

Engine > Idle > Idle Airflow > Base Running Airflow...

I already email Marcin about the injectors, I even asked a couple questions about the idle issue (dying at stop)
