Can you not turn off the fan error code in the engine diagnostics tab?

Pulled an 08 5.4 file from the repository. I don't see anywhere to set the fan on-temp/disable. All fan codes are set to no-error reported. Idk on this one.

Could try disabling the fan clutch by pulling the fuse for it, but then how will the electric fans be controlled?

I've been curious about a mechanical fan delete too but havent spent too much time on it.

I know the circuit on the mustang is pretty simple (see attached)

I'm wondering if the signal wire for the electric clutch could be used to activate e-fans via relays.

i think the only complication is the fan clutch uses a fan speed sensor. not sure if that sensor works in a closed loop manner within the electric clutch circuit or if its just for a dtc though

Im not sure im going to pull a file from the truck tomorrow and go through it to see what can be done if you could disable it fault reporting maybe use a resistor in it if it measures same as the clutch. The problem youll have is it also needs to see speed. I could use a one way diode to have it kick on with ac then a temp sender tapped into thermostat housing to temp control it? Alot of extra bs but i think itd work

As big as you can fit. If it's going to be on a temp switch you may as well overkill it... nothing worse than a hot rod that overheats.
