    O2 Sensor Questions

I recently had LG Pro headers put on my C6 but didn't have the o2 sensors at the time. I had stumbled on a post that had a walkthrough on how to disable them and did so with success. This is on an LS2, A6, 2006

Now I have the front two sensors in and working but they are still disabled via the the tune.

I do not want to reinstall the rear ones if I don't need too so question one is does this pose a problem to the ecm to only run off the front two?

Can anyone tell me the optimal way to enable the front ones while still leaving the rears off? I know the DTC's with Bank 1 need to be enabled again but looking for any additional help anyone can throw my way.

Sidenote if anyone can point me to that elusive post that I can't seem to find the correct search words that discussed this topic that would be great.

    Thanks!

Disable any code that references the Sensor 2 stuff. When I get home, I can e-mail you the file from my friend's 2005 so you can see the codes that are disabled. Leave SES Enable checked, but set them to 3.

There's no problem to turning off the rear O2 sensors. The only purpose they serve is to monitor catalyst efficiency. If you don't have cats anymore, then there's no point in having the rear sensors. Only your fronts provide input for fueling adjustments.

FYI, check your PMs on Speed.

I thought unchecking SES Enable didn't allow the readiness checks to complete.

That's possibly true. I've never attempted to verify this.

I'll try it this weekend when I tune my buddy's 05 Corvette. I only vaguely remember reading about it.

I know I'm bringing back an old post, but was the verdict? My inspection will be in a few months and I've got the rear 02's turned off by setting all of the DTC's described above by setting them to: 3-No Error Reported, but I have SES Enable unchecked . So far everything seems fine, just want to make sure it's ok for inspection. Is there an easy way I can test it myself?

Just check your readiness monitors in the scanner.

Hey guys sorry to bringing this thread back, but I have a question will this setup work for a 2006 gto, I went ahead and disabled my o2s I unchecked the box and change to no error 3, disabled cot, but on the status bid It shows that its on. That can't be true since one of the rear o2 is not even there, its plugged off.

The PCM is still going to try and activate the sensors... they just won't throw any codes.

Don't set COT to disabled if you have DOD/AFM and you want to use it. Just set the enrichment to 1.000 and max out the enable temp. table.
