there are 2 sides to the vats, a fuel cutoff and an ignition cutoff, hp tuners only disables the fuel cutoff, you need to ohm the resistor pellet of your key and make a resistor to satisfy the BCM.

when tuning timing, does one tune driveablility in high octane, and tune wot in low octane tables since, when the car goes wot it hits open loop?

you have a wideband im assuming? your VE table is way off, you have to dial your VE table with in 1-2% at least then after that, disable your MAP sensor and dial in your MAF independantly, then after...
