Bringing this back up for those who also cuss because of this problem.
Taking some ideas I got from this thread, I've now successfully flashed a couple of these 03-06 trucks pulling these fuses...
I have been thinking about trying my old cable with an older version of the software saved on my other laptop. I still have my original MPV1 as well. Good call. I will try that on the next one....
It's happened to me throughout probably 10 different updates, 10 different USB cables, and everything else. I know there's a CAN issue with these year model trucks. I just don't know why HPT hasn't...
Thank you!
Can you elaborate on this one?
Yes I pull all the fuses..
Yes my USB cable is new...
Yes I unclick high speed mode...
Yes I've even pull entire radios out of the dash and out of the system..
Yes I make sure they have a good...
One particular issue I've seen with C6 Z's especially is, if they set any kind of MIL light for something emissions related it will need to see that sensor functioning or reading correctly again...
Search the tune repository.
I set up a misfire config that has every single misfire monitor PID whatever current PCM I'm tuning will offer me. Then I multiply all the misfire tables by 1.5 until I get the computer OK with the...
Alvin I know you've been in the game a long time and know your stuff but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you here. Disabling the PCM's ability to see a real misfire is never a good...
I see it ALL the time. Guys don't listen when I tell them not to put that crap on their trucks because it murders torque. "But it looks sooo cooool brooo"
You will definitely need a step up in injectors, and the tune will need to be calibrated on 93 octane first before running E85. Your E maps are based off the 93 maps, so those have to be done first....
Are you trying to tune a stock VVT cam or aftermarket?
Are these LSA injectors?
Need to go up a bit on your base running airflow table. Mainly in the 200-1000rpm cells for now. What kind of injectors are you running and where did you get the data? And what throttle body?
I tuned cars MAF only for years until I finally realized how much better they run with the VE (or VVE) active. There's also certain applications where the MAF by itself is not going to properly...
From a quick look at things, you have the 2-3 and 3-4 shift trying to shift beyond where the rev limiter is set, which is at 6200. Set your limiter to 6600 to give the trans a little room, and retry....
Outside of cutting some start up timing out, there's nothing you can really do in the tune that's truly going to quiet down piston slap. You could do what a buddy of mine did a long time ago and flex...
If the SES light is still flashing, you most likely still have a misfire. Put all your misfire tables back to stock, multiply by 1.5 just to numb them down a hair, put the P0300 DTC reporting back to...
I've noticed ever since upgraded to the latest beta, a whole lot of DTC's are now grey'd out that weren't before. To the point you can't even put a set of headers on a car anymore without check...
For some reason, all the preset stuff in the scanner doesn't work well with my NTK WB. It's nowhere near what the NTK box says it is. I've played around with it and got it close in the attached...
You guys are great, thank you!
17 Sierra, 5.3, some idiotically giant cam somebody else installed. The TSP "BD" cam or something...Trims are dialed in +/- 2%, dropped VT down to meet my commanded idle, etc. and with throttle help...
The dieseling when shutting off a cammed LS7 has been a thing on every one I've ever done. Always wondered if there was a way to stop it. Injector timing maybe?
These year models are a major PITFA when it comes to flashing. You already have to pull the radio fuse if there's an aftermarket radio in the truck or it won't complete the flash, but I am constantly...
