I have a 2001 Corvette and I have run it on up to 100% E85.
It was several years ago, when gasoline was too expensive, that I was most heavily into it. But, I know what you need to do. It...
Good points/questions. Hopefully jlpearl is making progress and will let us know how it's going.
Are you aware of what the minimum injector pulse is for those?
Injector flow rate is not "flat" just because the fuel system is return style. Intake manifold pressure still influences flow rate.
...
I looked at the log. By letting the log run all the way thru while observing the histogram for the wideband's measured AFR, I can see that it shows the ratios are near stoich until the higher RPM's,...
OK, so my friend just called to tell me that he figured out the problem.
The MAP wires were evidently mis-labeled on the harness. He fixed that and now the engine is starting and idling fine.
Hello HP Tuners Forums.
I have a friend who is working on a resto-mod. He got the complete (long block/trans/ECM & TCM) swap and has it installed in a 60's Impala. He used a pre-made harness and...
OK, gotcha.
We really gotta start writing our congressmen and somehow get the general public to realize that ethanol is an excellent fuel OPTION. Not the answer to everything, BUT AT LEAST AN...
Short answer: YES
I am not aware of any injectors that are capable of that short a pulse. Let alone your gargantuan injectors.
Also, your MAF is reporting 1.X grams per second of airflow, so...
OK, that's good.
What was the problem?
Your Trans Type is currently selected as a Manual under Transmission>Auto Shift Properties>General.
Maybe that is the problem?
I am trying to use the Russ K idle config for tuning an 04 Vette. I recently upgraded to VCM Suite 2.24, and it is nice. I remember that we used to have to use a Beta version of the VCM Suite for...
I think you will be OK. Of course, test it and let us know what the actual IDC at WOT with E85 ends up being. And I know you meant .76 Lambda and not 11.2 AFR.
Best of luck!
Why not just trust the MAF above 4000 rpm?
Are you using the VCM from the 07 Savana van? Because I would suggest starting with the stock tune for a 4.8 ... Check the tune repository.
That way, you have a base tune to go off of, with GM's...
OK, you're the expert, but I figure finding a best fit for a curve is calculus.
is it not a cubic regression to find the best fit curve for the trendline of the scatterplot?
and they said you'd never use calculus in the real world:pray:
My advice would be to leave the factory O2 sensors and their connectors alone and have an additional O2 bung welded in. That way, the factory stuff is intact and you can put the bung upstream of the...
Your MAF table is JACKED UP.
Put a stock MAF table in there first thing.

Get us a config file and a scan showing the data at the time of the symptoms you describe.
Yeah Ben, it is amazing what can be learned when you take the time to research a subject Beyond The Internet Consensus. You are exactly correct that the method of "tuning" that involves increasing...
I think you need to let me drive it and I'll tell you what's wrong. :drivin:
Ha ha, just wishing I could see those 100+ kPa readings on my MAP. That car must be fun to drive.:usa:
Hold down the Record button for 2 seconds.
RTFM!
So if you shot yourself in the foot with a Smith & Wesson, would you demand a refund from them?
All your modifications increase the airflow through your engine, but you haven't done anything to the tune to account for the increased airflow. That's why your Long Term Fuel Trims are so far...
