One thing that helped mine was removing the negative timing in low RPM-high flow rates. I have not opened an 08 to see if they still have negatives or not. Just keep an eye out for knock.

Nope, not with HPT. It isn't that bad once you get the input/table formats figured out.
Yes the VE is the newer virtual.
I run premium as well and the stock was still showing some KR in places. The most I could gain was 1-2. It is fairly aggressive stock. I added 1-4 in the DOD - high Octane and picked up 1-3 MPG. ...
Just a FYI here is the difference between stock and my current tune for the HO DOD. There are a couple of cells where knock forced me down to only +2.
Does anyone make any adjustments to the...
At least on my truck going any lower than 10-12% less didn’t result in any increase in mpg. Sure I could hold V4 longer but at around 12% the DIC showed that I would transition to V8 at the same mpg....

When an adder table kicks in, like for cold starts, does it adjust the commanded AFR? Another example is if COT kicks in does the commanded AFR change or does it just add fuel? Could this be what...
Is it possible that it is Burst knock and not real knock? I had to half my entire Burst knock table to get it to be a little more reasonable. Just a thought.
Take a look at these:
need more low end
truck is weak off the line
Do a search or look in the Stickies at the top. The 88% is of 5 volts. You are 100%.

I consistently get 20ish on my 65-mile commute 50/50 city/rural roads.
1. I added between 2 and 4 to my DoD HO spark table.
2. Adjusted the DoD vacuum enable & disable table by up to -4 in the...
I agree getting rid of the negatives and bumping up the low RPM ones by a couple did make a difference.
Not to hijack this thread but if there is not much that can be done with tuning what is the...
I was getting misfires and KR on my #6 and it turned out that the stock plug electrode was almost straight up, not .040. Do not remember looking to see if the O2 sensors were weird or not but I...
I figured out getting Lambda and the voltage to display.
I still have a problem with AFR error %. I have disabled SD. If my fuel trims are +-2% in closed loop, when I switch to open loop...
Can someone see what I am doing wrong? I have my afx in a new bung, hooked up directly to the battery with the yellow analog going to pin 1 and the brown going to pin 5 on the mpvi pro. I can not...
Can you post your tune?
There is a lot of good info in the help files. I also would highly recommend spending the $16.47 on this book. Read, read and read more. Then ask detailed questions. That is what has helped me the...
Yes. I renamed the folder for the 2.22 to be HPTuners-2.22 and then installed the beta. That way I can pick which version I want to work with.
I had the same thing and it was not FlexFuel causing it. Log the different Advance and Knock pids. Look for negative timing, most likely coming from low RPM and high load in the HO Advance table...

This is my stock tune.
Why does GM run PE so rich? Cooler burn?
It seems like when towing I would almost never enter PE given the delay and throttle %, and get the benefits of the cooler AFR...
Bump.
I am doing my WB tuning tomorrow and was wondering the same thing.
All Sensors/PIDs that are used in the Histogram display must be listed in the Table view. If you are trying to see STFT in a histogram with Engine Speed and MAP as the axis then you need all three...
Greg, can you explain what you mean by this statement?
I am working on PIDs and histograms to try to work with Lambda. Too bad GM uses equivalence ratio for PE, yet another calculation.
