ive had decent luck with them on many occasions. with that said yes they are over kill for you. something like ford red top 30s or gxp white 42s would be better suited for your current setup

also to add to items to check is potential bad sensor, bad plug at sensor or burnt wires. as with a bad sensor it defaults in the computer to add max fueling to maintain a safe working enviroment
like said above go to fuel tab, cranking fuel, fa multiplier and increase this table in the area affected by about 2 to 5 percent added and see if it helps if so play with it until you like it, try...
