Fortunately GM made this easy to figure out on the G8... if your L76 G8 is a 9L1 or 9L2 VIN, it has the LS2 tb... if 9L3 (either L76 or LS3), it has the LS3 tb

Yes, the 2009.5 uses an LS3 tb, the 2008 and 2009.1 use an LS2 tb.

To be specific, the items that don't show up off top of my head are PRNDL status, TCC slip, TCC line pressure, TCC D. Slip, and Time Shift.

snowvette, this is why I won't run an underdrive pulley on a G8... the car is just too picky when it comes to all the juice needed to run the electronics... this little experience simply reinforces...

Bingo, you are correct DSteck... tested the battery, it showed as "weak", and since I know the G8 is notorious for hating weak batteries I ripped it out and replaced it... fired up like it was...
