I got a hotter 5.9 that his and mine idles fine with a slight lope, it doesn't hunt for a steady idle. If it's hunting for an idle something with that small cam, something isn't set up right.
Did you perform an idle sync?
Mine is a 5.9, 2001. Everything worked fine. I have MPVI2, I did have to be connected to the internet and I did sync it. I read, wrote and data logged.
Today I read and wrote to my JTEC Dakota. Everything worked fine. I did get a proxy fail at the start, I synced and it worked fine after that. I did try to read/write without being connected to the...

So it's safe to download the latest beta software and the JTEC is loading fine. I try an upload Monday.
Can you post a picture.
That's good to hear. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I leave my trickle charger on when I do anything with the MPVI2 hooked up.
I uploaded a PCM last summer, before HP Tuner released JTEC to MPVI3. I asked HP Tuners if they turned anything off for JTEC for MPVI2 when they added JTEC to MPVI3 and they said no.
Has anyone...
Sound good, I would like to know.
What were you using MPVI???
What are you looking to do?
I've seen numerous posts asking if there are problems with MPVI2 /MPVI2+ and JTEC. Some have speculated that maybe they turned off MPVI2 / MPVI2+ when they came out with MPVI3. I contacted HP...
Anyone, when I downloaded it, it goes through the download, then I get an error and won't save. I sent the fail to HP Tuners in July and check back 3 times, nothing back from them.
I would post this in the tuning section.
Some what true, I have a fully built valve body and the settings in the stock tune are still hold back my shift points. Shift firmness are 100% in the valve body (and some what the TV valve), but...
Thanks
My MPVI2 plugs into the OBD port, but I do have be on wifi for it to work. So I don't think it is a MPVI+
I need to make some updates to my tune in my Dakota, it has a JTEC computer. Is MPVI2 still good to use with JTEC? I don't want brick my computer because HP turned off MPVI2, when MPVI3 came online.
It 2001 JTEC, pretty simple settings, Low speed on/off, High speed on/off. Old T-Stat was 190 and that was what the tune was wrote for, but I'm deleting the clutch fan. I'm going to put in a 180...
If I have a 180 T-Stat, what should I set my on/off fan settings?
I have found, you just can't change one thing, you have to change a bunch of things to make a difference.
I'm not really sure what changing the shift and hold pressures would do and if I went in the right direction. So I didn't want to make too many changes at one time, it did help some. I have another...
Did you get anywhere on this?
