I just got back into town myself! I had done a few tweaks already and a log. I comparing the 2 tunes now...looks like I got a little more aggressive adding timing.

Need some help timing tables. I turned on MAF, DFCO, etc. and also copied over timing tables from a stock 2010 5.3 from a truck (less idle tables that LS Rob adjusted for me). Went for a quick run...
Have made good progress with cleaning up the VVE table...big thank you to LS Rob for the help!
Here the current tune with MAF failed - 146222
Here is a log with a couple of quick heavy throttle...
Since I couldn't post the entire log with histogram, I copied it to an .XLS to make it easy to grab. 146016
Rob, I took the car out and got a 32 minute log running the Pass1 -1.1 tune you posted. Didn't get as much of the table covered this time, but the trims are looking good!
At 4:10 in "part 2" log,...
Thanks! It's about to storm here, so I won't be out getting any more logs today. Hope to get back out tomorrow afternoon and get another log after work.
So didn't see your tune VVE Test-1 until now. I did capture a much longer log using the tune I loaded. I filled in a good portion of the table. I need to hit the higher load and higher RPM, and I...
Here is a cruise log 145956
I copied trims to tune, applying by 1/2. Smoothed and then calc coefficients. Loaded tune, cleared LT trims and back out for another drive to log.

The engine was stripped of EVAP and I have set all of those to no SES or MIL, but keeps coming back. The engine also has a fixed camshaft, have P0010 turned off as well. I try clearing the codes,...
[QUOTE=LS ROB;779187]Try this VVE test to see if it will idle.
Cranked and idled like a champ! The timing didn't fluctuate as much either.

Both snippets below are from same tune.
The first snippet the timing doesn't swing, but IPW drops to .7 and engine dies.

The second snippet the engine tries to run for a few...
So I have ran into the issue again where after loading a tune the car won't idle. Will crank/run fine and then IPW drops to 0.7. Any idea what is causing this to occur?

EDIT:...
I don't have an "as found", bought the ECM/TCM used. I'll copy over timing tables from a stock 2010 5.3 Silverado tune. Thanks for looking at the tune!
Ah...I have NOT been resetting LTFT's after adjusting VVE.
Made several iterations, seem to be making some progress. For lean cells, I was applying full percentage. For rich cells, if they weren't over 5% or so, I typically did not apply them and when I...

Last tune and log of idle. Table is smooth(er), still rich and making corrections of 13%.

Here's the result after taking a stab at the VVE table. Car started and idled fine, still 10-12% rich at idle. I am now looking for the gen 4 idle guide...wondering if the idle airflow settings are...
...I'm going to take a stab at smoothing the table as is.
I don't disagree at all. I'm just trying to find a solid starting point of reference before I scale/smooth the table. Unless you have a suggested table to start from? I have a 2010 5.3 Silverado...
Very good point...I forget the corrections were in play.
My thought was to hit some other cells around the idle zone. Where is the tuning idle guide? I'll read through it...being new still...
Here is the tune I loaded with MAF failed, CL enabled - 145884
Here is a test log with engine warmed up. - 145883
I used RPM control to raise/hold RPMs, however it wouldn't go above 1200 RPM...
Which LT and ST PIDs do I want to log for VVE correction? Should I combine them into one histogram? Or use only LT since the VVE table is so rough right now?
I thought it needed to be in open loop with LT and ST trims disabled to calculate % change needed for the VVE?
Now that I think about it, I could log LT+ST in histogram and apply to VVE? ...
