I'm in for a race :D :D
I'll be at S-series Nats this year in St Louis. Great time to be had by all. I'd love to see another turbo 4banger out there. I've won fastest 4cyl at nats two years...
I know how it works currently, I just haven't found anyone that can give me a good reason it won't work the way I am proposing :D
PE is power enrichment. Accell enrichment is for when you...
The whole thought is that you abandon the TPS sensor altogether, and run the signal from a 2 or 3bar MAP sensor into that terminal on the PCM (Very similar to the wideband logging through EGR signal...
A breath of fresh air....Thanks for the screen shots. 2 bar is actually 29.4psi of ABSOLUTE pressure. Which at sea level will read 14.7psi on a guage. MAP stands for manifold absolute pressure. The...
Who cares if it never goes into closed loop? It's perfectly acceptable to drive around on a tune that is in open loop at all times. In fact, if you are doing datalogging, and tuning in closed loop,...
You are completely and totally missing the point. Just becuase it doesn't go to 0 volts doesn't mean it won't work. There are tons of areas on a VE table that are rarely or never visited however...
From your above post I'm going to guess you have little to no idea how sensors work, or how the PCM interperets the signals. The TPS sensor and the MAP sensor are both 0-5V range sensors. With a 2bar...
TPS = Throttle Position Sensor. A sensor that REPORTS (not dictates) the throttle position. You don't have an electronic throttle. I can see the throttle cable in the picture you have posted above. I...
The TPS is the sensor that reads the throttle change, not the thing doing the throttle change. You can still push the pedal, and open the throttle. However that info won't be relayed to the computer....
Kinda curious why you're running a clutch fan AND an electric fan? Take that clutch fan off there man, it's not doing you any good anymore.
You don't disconnect the throttle cable, so the blade will still function just fine. The truck wouldn't just take off, you still need to use the throttle for that. It simply would move the value in...
Well I don't have the software in front of me to know how feasible this idea is, however I want to run it past you guys anyway.
The TPS is a 0-5V signal right? 2 or 3 bar MAP sensor is also a 0-5V...
Fueling isn't controlled by MAP? How is is controlled then? I'm going to guess some sort of TPS based controll???
I'll be putting a turbo on the 2.2 in the Xtreme here in a few months, and need to...
What about a variable speed controller? Similar to what some guys use on electric fans? Runs the pump at a lower voltage then as the temps come up, the pump speeds up to full voltage?!?!?
Just a...
Product Development/Sustaining Engineer for a Kitchen Accessory Company......with a part time job/hobby working with a good friend and his business that supports the Syclone/Typhoon comunity.
The Sy/Ty guys lock the convertors all the time at the strip when doing WOT runs. Locks once the tranny shifts to second. Granted thats OBDI stuff, however I don't see the ECM as the issue.
Also...
I would say it depends on your level of tuning ability.
Probably more max power to be had from a good custom tune, however I'm sure GM engineers made sure the stage two upgrade was safe,...
Perhaps it would be a good excercise to get ahold of a MAT sensor from a Sy/Ty/other vehicle that mounted in the manifold, and test the resistance at different temperatures to see how it matches up...
Not sure that this helps, but some of the older OBDI cars had MAT sensors instead of IAT's.....For instance the Syclone/Typhoon trucks had a MAT that is mounted to the side of the upper intake...
Thanks for the fast response.
Looks more and more like the software will be getting purchased here in the near future. Between some fuel economy, and power to be gained on the ZR5, and some simple...
OK I've another question that I don't see in the FAQ's, and after a few minutes of searching I can't find either.
The truck is acting like the PCM has "busted" again. This would be the second one...
Excellent.....Thanks for the info I greatly appreciate it.
This one is a little different than most...I've spent about 45 minutes searching and haven't found anything yet on this particular subject, except for one guy wanting to make it happen, and not...
That looks alot like Nick's car. Used to be a Typhoon guy. He had a red ZO6 that was procharged a few summers back when JSM rented out the Beech Bend. If it's the same Nick it's good to see you're...
