Excellent! The answer I was looking for. Thank you.
The second part of my question remains unanswered however......am I running solely on the idle in drive spark table with the PCM registering the clutch being engaged all the time?
It's a 2002, so it's only a single pole switch, PCM is looking for a break in the circuit. P0704 is of course disabled in the tune at the moment.

Unrelated to the OP's question, but when you print PDF diagrams off of eSI, do you have to turn up the size? Mine always preview small and I have to crank it up to like 150% to fill the page lol
I have a 4.8 with a NV3500 in a Jeep YJ, manual transmission calibration. I read somewhere that the PCM will only transition to the main spark tables when the clutch is released. My issue is...
My Jeep is a manual, but an older YJ with no clutch switch. 2001 4.8, manual calibration. I don't think DFCO is working, and believe its due to the/a clutch switch not connected. Tech2 says the...
Re-clocking the MAF yielded no change. Guess I'm going to have to try dialing it in. Frustrating because this wasn't an issue prior to changing the fuel pump, but at the time the engine wasn't...
I have a stock 4.8 in a Jeep YJ with a part throttle surge in closed loop that is giving me fits. No codes. No misfires under load on my Tech 2, only occasional ones at idle. 55psi running fuel...
Hate to dig up a 9 year old thread but this describes my issue to a T. I thought I was chasing an RFI problem.....wrapped the twisted pair in RFI shielding tape, and clipped a couple of ferrite cores...
I know this is an old post, but sir.....you are a godsend. A lot of DD VSS information out there is sketchy at best. I tripped over your post, followed your math to the letter......and it worked...
I pulled the pin on a GPS speedo signal adaptor that is capable of putting out a 4000ppm signal. I have a 4.8 swapped Jeep YJ that due of the angle of the speedo cable exiting from the side of the...
Kind of off-topic, but as a tech what is your take on the lack of new MDI2 availability outside of dealer channels? Is it really the post-COVID material shortage they pin it on, or is it something...
While I do not know the exact specifics of the Global B architecture and it's comm protocols, it does make sense that a new MPVI was probably necessary......as the original GM/Bosch MDI will not work...
I've attached my tune file for your review. My Jeep has a Ford-style, normally open brake switch. No provisions for changing to a GM-style switch with the additional set of normally closed contacts...
I have a 4.8/NV3500 swapped into a Jeep YJ. Homemade harness, and reflashed the PCM with a manual calibration from GM SPS. As of right now the brake light switch wire is not connected, so my Tech 2...
I did not know this......and I have a very similar Jeep swap (stock 4.8, y-pipe with 3 inch cat, muffler and tail). Cat didn't last more than a couple of months. Downstream O2's deleted of course.
You didn't mention what you were using for cables (or whether you updated them), or how you have your alternator wired. When I swapped the 4.8 into my Jeep I went with a 600CCA, 75 series GM side...
What year calibration are you working with? While my engine came from a 2001 truck with an automatic, my swap is a manual. Killed 2 birds with one stone.....using a calibration from a 2002 manual not...
Is that the scenario where you have to reflash the PCM with a 2010 Camaro calibration and wire the VSS directly to the PCM itself (the 155mph problem)?
To be honest I am not sure. The same OS restriction is of course true, but I kinda pulled a fast one with my setup. The PCM (and engine) was from a 2001 with an auto trans. I flashed in a 2002,...
You could do a pass-through re-flash with a Tech 2 if you have TIS2000 and the cables. You could also do it through GM SPS/Techline Connect if you buy the $40 per VIN subscription. I did the EXACT...
Was just looking at the diagrams from one. How well does the P11 work in a boosted application though?
Yes, 80's era 2.3. Would be built like a Turbo Coupe/SVO engine, but with a newer turbo and front mounted intercooler. From the research I have done, best practice would be to put the MAF between the...
Random wild idea. Thinking of building a turbo 2.3 Ford in a Fox body Mustang. Would like to take advantage of the "newer" tech afforded by the switch to the twin plug head, and distributor-less...
The only Gen 3 engine that oil pressure data was processed through the PCM was the Corvette. 3 wire sensor to the PCM, and the gauge was driven by Class 2 data. I don't know however if you would need...
