A 6l80e swap is possible with a E40. Do a google search for True Blue Motorsports.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but HP tuners reads the PCM only. Your code is in the BCM. I have the same issue with my 07 Escalade. Need to go to GM so they can check it with a tech II.
