Often times if you send them the scan they can help.
Following. I wonder if it is just an ECU they have not mapped yet?
I actually ended up getting a 99 XJ. I look forward to folks sharing some of their experiences. So far it looks very limited compared to the LS stuff I am used to tuning. Very few tables.
Pretty exciting to see tuning in some form is capable with the XJ. I am looking at them now and was wishing I could tune them, haha.
Well took a little figuring to get the gear without pulling the cover, but it seems I have 4.88 gears in the truck. Basic procedure for those that need to know in the future, jack up the rear end,...
Hmm, that might be interesting. Dont have any scanner other than hptuners.
Does this require a complete write/flash or can you just write changes?
Dang this will be a big help. Just got an 05 truck that has 35" tires and potentially a gear change as well, not sure, but right now the speedo is WAY off reading like 20-30 mph faster than I am...
Not yet, car has been at the chassis shop getting a bit of work done. They are still behind due to our half inch of snow, haha.
Latest rendition based on your figures. The thing that worries me in both of these is the 3>4 tables. Seems like it is going to lug the engine a good bit. It does not like being below about 2000...
My thought based on some various transmission tutorials was to set shift rpm about 6250 as the actual shift can be as late as 500 rpm past this point. My redline is actually 6800 so I figure even if...
Ed that is great. What rpm are you assuming the shift to target? Are you targeting 5900 and thinking it will happen at 6400?
Latest rendition based on the bluecat spreadsheet.

I had actually purposely left the shift speeds low for WOT as I wanted to go more by RPM. Is this the wrong approach? I was under the impression that the 2 criteria of speed and rpm had to be met...
Also here is the revisions I made previously as well as some based on powerzone's suggestions. I have not applied the speeds from the excell spreadsheet since I was not clear if they were meant for...
Was this done based on a 3.73 or the 3.27? If there a place in the spreadsheet where I can change the rear gear?
Thank you sir. I will check it out when I get home. The rear gear is 3.27 with 28" tires.
Well seems it was just some of the downshift and shift points. Seems settled.
Just trying to get this sorted. Was out and about and realized that often times my transmission is not kicking all the way down into 1st gear even some times when I am at a stop. Can anyone check...
Dealing with myself. I tried an adapter that would allow it to plug into the hptuners unit itself and that did not work. Showed no power on the unit. I have ordered another adapter now in hopes of...
Good to know, I can try that when I go back out there tomorrow. It is just slow since it is not my car and having to drive 45 minutes each time I want to try since the car is currently inoperable...
Gotcha. I guess I will have to drive back out there and plug into the car again to get a good info log.
hardware black oak 1472 ECM, Ford
Well, a step in the right direction. It gathered some information and realized what vehicle year at least. Got the above information today when I drove out...
