Upgraded my hard drive on my dell laptop. HPTuners is the only real program I have on it. Installed XP, all the original dell drivers back to original, updated software and installed HPT 2.22 and it...
Buddy at GM sent me the latest TSB on this. If an engine or tranny has a mechanical failure, GM now requires a photograph of tech II screen showing calibrations sent to a specific office for...
Ok but what about the readout on the dash? Obviously can't use Denali dash as don't have top level cluster plus its programmed for 4 speed? I recall there were issues with this.
if you head over to performancetrucks.net and do a search, there are some guys that have done it. One person put it in an older GMT800 and got it to work but had to piggyback ecms for cruise and...
There should be no lag switching between V4/V8...so if it is really 30 seconds you have some serious issues and should see dealer. There was a TSB about jerking or hesitation when switching modes but...
I too thought it was interesting they keep an exhaust charge in the cylinder and also keep firing the plugs.
Its kinda odd that the only cyl you see KR on in DOD has a plug that is messed up on...
Straight from GM Service manual as of today. First sentence spells it out, but I pasted some extra reading in there... :D

The cylinders that shut off are #1, 4, 6, and 7. I am not sure about 5 and 7 going lean, that may be a throwback to the old engines where 5 and 7 scavenged each other as they fired in sequence...
Just wondering if you tried this yet and how it worked out?
Just an update, I dropped the vac chart cells just a bit right in the range where it sits at 120hm/hr...def stays on more, but now I can feel it engaging and dis-engaging. Don't like that so going...
That would be a pretty extreme case though, correct?
Sounds interesting. I made a few minor changes right at the speed that I want, we'll see what happens. I do wonder what would happen if you allow it to lug too much in V4 mode? Any thoughts?? Also...
That is what I was thinking too, with the new charts the V8/V4 is just as smooth as ever so should be some left. Pedal position bumped to 15% as well from 6%. On the shifting after doing some...
I just wanted to post and say that I have now flashed my truck for the first time (WHEW! It still runs!! :worship: ). Only two changes, swapped in the vac charts that Russ posted earlier in this...
Here is an example...looking to drop 6.2L/6speed auto into my truck. Wiring looks pretty much plug and play, biggest issue will be the tranny gear display on the dash which comes from BCM. Will it...
Yaah ok now I feel stupid!! How did I miss THAT???
Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
2007 NNBS Sierra, when playing back some datalogging and oil pressure is in psi it is about half of what the gauge in the truck says. If I use metric settings it is dead on to the truck gauge, and...
2007 NNBS GMC Sierra RCSB 5.3 flexfuel, 4L60e, 3.73's, stock right now.
Bought HPTuners for my own interest, the ability to tone down torque management, up the power, ability to scan vehicles for...
Since I have already made one post (:hi: ) figured I better introduce myself. Long time car nut from Western Canada, several serious show winning restorations over the years, so pretty good knowledge...
Just wondering how all this turned out? Did you get the surge to go away? Never heard any more so assuming all is well?? :)
