So sadly that dyno event didn't end up happening but that didn't stop me from fooling around with this. I have what feels like the best settings I've boiled down to than ever before for these zzp...
I just don't have anything to benefit from keeping this to myself. I don't sell tunes, nor do I need to since I already have a day job. I primarily only tune my own car and a few of my friends cars...
Sorry to dig up this thread.
This is the current iteration of cam tables I've scratched out for myself based on NA tuning philosophies discussed in my old VVT thread and what we know about the vvt...
Higher numbers are more timing retard, lower numbers are advace. Setting it to 0 degrees on the intake and anything over 0 on the exhaust gives you some positive overlap at the furthest advanced...
I would expect a DC type control circuit. An AC circuit wouldn't be very useful for driving an electromagnet.
Also I should note that the 2 tables I uploaded are for my current N/A setup. I forgot to label what the were. But it kinda shows what I did to increase my low end torque and increase the throttle...
I've toyed with these setting a bit on mine. Nothing I seem to do really makes much of a difference. I have not spent too much time messing with it though. It seems to obey my set shift pressures...
On the LNF that seems to be similar to the case but I have not been able to determine with confidence where the values in the table correlate to in terms of absolute values for the LE5. However...
It looks very similar to the tables for the LE5 going off of what appears to be the egr areas in the tables. I had a pdf on the cam profiles for some ecotecs but im not sure where its gone off to. ...
Thanks for the tips. I've set up a new histograms for monitoring the injector pulse width to compare with my spark timing table that is also in an other histogram. Right now I'm mainly watching my...
Now that its getting colder out I've been making adjustments to my IAT advance tables for the colder air to add in some more timing. I'm just wondering if I should be going about adding timing this...
Im pretty sure I've got it disabled unless there is something in another tab/menu I missed. Ive got it disabled and maxed out the table that goes with it.
nhanson's settings have it disabled too...
Its probably just the stall rpm of the converter. Just the maximum amount of "slack" that can be taken up by the trans fluid on between the pump and turbine. If ya wana change that you have to cut...
I just added a high flow cat on my car recently and it does make the car generate that code pretty often. I thought about disabling the code since it still seems to be hitting its marks most of the...
Check this thread. Some vvt talk for lnf lsj and le5

Yeah the spring in the vvt phaser will return it to its full retard, i tried it on my ecotec le5 a month ago by zeroing out the intake and exhaust vvt tables while mapping out vvt settings and power...

They say it has VVT but they don't mention if its for both exhaust and intake or just exhaust
EDIT:...
Well I did a few runs today and found that the timing I had to pull out netted me about the same but a little less power than just running at 12.84 afr with more advance. Though I only run about 20...
Since i've got 2 more days to fool around im going to try changing the power enrich fueling at ratios between 12.8 and 13.2, normally i've run 1.140 across to get 12.9 with a little bit of an...
I have a few more ideas to test out but sadly my normal semester is about to start and i'll be running my economy tune on the car.
lol i know what you mean, every day im messing with the...
im getting clean 2nd only pulls now from hp tuners on my testing road and feeding it into virtual dyno, while its not giving me the real hp numbers its letting me see comparisons between tunes in a...
Heh, I like sharing these finding to others in hopes that i'll get more people working on it too and share back their results so everyone wins
Hopefully with virtualdyno automatic gear ratios are...
Just another addition, i tested 6 deg on the exhaust time again in high rpm and its still in the good range. The maf flow is a bit lower but the ve gets along higher. Seems a bit more powerful but...
I have tried using 6 and 8 deg on the exhaust side but the stock 10 deg seems to be the best so far. I'm going to try testing times more advanced than 10 though to see how they stack up.
I haven't...
For all the N/A'd LE5 owners
Alright, my summer course ended and I've had a week to fool around with all the various hypotheses I've had and worked out some pretty sweet timings for the exhaust and...
