How would I know if it has a custom tune

hpt scans/reads the ecm perfect, so if i want change timing or etc , will it let me write the changes even if the car was previously edited with efi live

i tried googling past post , not getting...

I notice the data on dw 65lb , dont match up to hptuners also , I think the data for gen 3 not for gen4 , how did convert it
