What pcm are you interested in doing this with? After doing some research into this, an e40 in a trailblazer has a fan speed sensor. I wonder if that could be used to read something like a compressor...
Thats a bummer. I wish they would make provisions to connect to an external logger through serial like they do with widebands. I deal with some Campbell Scientific and National Instruments data...
You could get a frequency to voltage converter and run it through that.
