So set the TUTD 100 cell to something really low for the dyno? Like 25mph?
Might explain a dip in my dyno chart when it unlocked, because I originally had the last 3 cells set to 255 to keep it...
Exactly. I'm trying to keep it from locking in all shift modes, but I thought you have to at the dyno for accurate numbers.
Either way I'd like to know how to keep TUTD from locking at WOT if...
Right, so then which TCC tables are used for full throttle TUTD?
Pattern Normal, A, B, Hot, etc all have Full Throttle TCC tables, but TUTD doesn't. Does it just use the 100 cell in Part...
Another basic question about dyno's: Do they typically stay in TUTD?
I know the pulls are done in 4th with the converter commanded to lock, but I'm going to assume tap shifting into 4th is what's...
Woah this thread took off, sorry I wasn't checking up on this lately.
So I think jtrosky is understanding my concern.
As posted in that other thread that was linked, Final TM is calculated like...
Typically this is set to 1.0000 in all cells, but a local tuner keeps setting mine to .2998 or .02xx. Why?
The formula for tqmgt is: FTF = {Shift Torque Factor + (Shift Torque Factor Adder *...
Maggie TVS1900 going on this spring. Gonna see how long I can handle the 3.91's with the boost, but I've had some suspension work since I last checked in.

Yep got it, thanks!
Lower rpm, raise kpa.
I'm used to wasting fuel with the G8, just gotta change how I think about tuning with the Tahoe.
Why increase the PE Enable for MAP? Wouldn't I decrease it? Currently its 55 kpa.
Also, when you originally talking about the "ramp in" were you referring to Enrichment Ramp In? Its pretty low...
Cool man thanks for the info. Few questions though:
Ramp in Rate, are you referring to the PE delay in seconds? Its right below the PE Delay - RPM, which is set to 5,000rpm on my stock bin file....
I only lock part throttle 4th gear and above....close to how stock tune would.
Ed, max TCC pressure is 138 but I'm not sure if I zero'ed all the proper slip tables.
Its under Auto TCC > TCC...
Putting the G8 away for the winter so I picked up a 2003 Tahoe Z71 5.3 with the 3.73 rear.
She's at 140k miles, but according to the 2 inch thick bible of maintenance receipts I'm fairly sure it...
A few months I did and he referred me to a tuner he knows who also confirmed to not lockup at WOT. I just wanted to get input from others as recently some friends in a car club asked why I didn't...
I've gone back and forth on this subject for awhile and most tuners tell me to never lockup the converter at WOT, but people at meets or car clubs tell me why wouldn't I want to lockup in 4th to have...
Now I'm confused again.
I know this should be answered somewhere but I'm not having luck searching old posts.
Is it true that Base Shift Pressure X is Sport mode and Y is Normal mode?
I thought it was the other way...
I'm trying to understand how to properly read the release speed (ie: 5th Release) cells.
If its set to 108, does that mean the convertor will unlock if i go WOT at 109 or 107?
What's the best...
Ok I think I gotcha now.
My speedo is just maybe 1mph faster than my GPS, so this makes sense because I put 26.6 into HPT. Oops, I'll fix that.
The ring and pinion are sitting on my kitchen table. I just had the gears swapped by a shop.
Ok Russ, so this is my question about the whole new/old % difference.
A stock bin file from a G8...
Learning a lot through Bluecat's program. Its interesting how I've been running tunes based off the stock bin for years where it would never allow a shift into 6th at WOT.
Granted that a stock G8...
This program is great. Its making it a breeze to get some bin files ready to try out with my new 3.91 rear end.
I love playing with the lockups (min, accel, WOT) and the Factor.
I put in my actual tire size of 275/35/19 (26.6) and now it comes out to 101.
Hm I'll take a look. Downloaded the program and will start messing around.
Do you prefer Bluecat's over the built in HPT auto scale utility?
Recently had a 1LE 3.91 installed on my G8 (before that I was running a 3.45 diff from a Camaro) and I loaded in the new 3.91 gear ratio on the Speedo table and hit commit.
My 4 > 5 shift is now...
So to clarify:
(New/Old) * Old
