Hi, this has given me some hope that it's possible to change to pwm fan control on my E38 ecm for my LS3 conversion, I'm using a Mercedes fan controller which is similar to the C6 corvette...
here is a similar arrangement however on a VF V6 model, different part number module but very similar in looks, not sure where the fans or module get there earth from?
I had a bit of a search and believe this is the fan schematic, fans earths through the module somewhere but i dont see another pin, and the module is mounted on the plastic fan shroud.
Only power...
The Spal 16" extreme fan must be around 350W at 13.5V / 26A.
There is only two input wires to the module so i'm not exactly sure how these are wired. Fused 12V supply, trigger wire? no room for an...
Valid points, ill have a bit of a search for a merc module and see what I can find since we know they will work, however the particular module I posted is used is also used on a LS3 VF SS commodore...
Hi All,
I've had a good read through most posts to see who else has added PWM control for a Spal 16" 3000cfm extreme fan - non brushless. I am upgrading my cooling system on my LS3 conversion...
months down the track I still haven't found a definite answer. I don't know of any one else that's used the 128k sensor and had good success.
I have been able to get the vcm scanner to read the...
Mike I could work out the reduction ratio, but I'll have to pull out the speedo drive and see how many teeth are on the drive and driven gears.
I'm actually wondering if all I really need to...
The e38 is expecting an AC voltage (two wire)

on a transmission like a 4l80 and 4l60e there is a 40 tooth reluctor wheel on the output of the...
hey guys, i have an LS3 enigine, E38 ecu and using a T400 transmission.
Im using a pulse generator from dakota digital so the ecu can see speed. The original values were 40 in the VSS p/rev, at...
Got it running heaps better, to get the map to read 100kpa with the engine not running I had to adjust the offset to -3.31 instead of -0.31
Is this common? Why would did I have to adjust the...
Ok,
with the scanner pluged in to my L76 vechine, the map reads 102kpa with the engine not running, the map sensor linear for that E38 ecu is 94.34 with offset of 10.34 but this has a delphi style...
good news. Got it fired up. Map sensor was wired incorrectly. I wired it as per my above post and the map now reads a more realistic value and started straight away.
Now the scanner reads 169kpa...
after some reading, the ls3 map sensor should be wired as
Pin 1 - C = Grey, +5v
Pin 2 - A = Org/Blk, Ground
Pin 3 - B = Light green, signal
so from left to right green, org/blk, grey.
...
attached is a photo of how the map sensor has been wired in. Is this correct?
Thanks
im thinking there is an issue with the map sensor.
for some reason its only reading 16kpa with the engine not running. During cranking stage it remains the same at 16kpa.
the map sensor...
i have a noid light fitted to the injector which has no pulse during cranking.
Yes write entire
i wish disconnecting the battery would help but still no go.
I logged the pid fuel cut type and it says none,
during cranking i can see the crank sensor counts
throttle position says 28% when im...
Hey guys. I currenty have an ls3 crate engine which has a cam only, 237/248 @ .612" lift. I have done a conversion into a car using a turbo 400 transmission.
The e38 ecu im using is from a manual...
