Going to the Dyno

I have done all the street tuning that I can to get my car running good. I have even made a couple passes at the track. Well I am now heading to the dyno and by the looks of it wont have any help for tuning. So I am requesting from anyone and everyone, what config's and or histograms do you all have that I should use to fine tune. They have a WB and advised me that I don't need to bring mine. Any advise would also be awesome or if you live in the Wichita KS area and are free on the 21st of this month I would love the help. Thank you all!!!

Also does anyone have any additional advice on how to do 2 different types of tunes for the same car. What I would like to do it a normal high end tune getting it fine tuned, but then have a second tune that is more low end that I can put on the car. I know this sounds odd but I am letting my 16yo brother in law use my car for prom since he kept his grades up all through high school and would like to tone down the car some for him for the night. Thanks again.

I would recommend you still bring your WB and have it ready.
Who knows what kind they have, whether you can easily input to your HPTuner and even if you can you dont want to be paying to figure out the calculations for it.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for me on the dyno? Im planning on double checking my VE tables and AFR, but how about fine tuning timing and getting her running at max performance? Anyone have a great scanner setup that worked good for them? Thank you all for any help.

if your trying to get max wot performance. Just scan the basic things. RPM, MAP, fuel trims (If you have any), load, command a/f ratio, actual a/f ratio, timing, coolant temp, iat, MPH, etc. If you have a manual it's pretty straight forward. With an automatic either use the controls in the scanner or set your upshift downshift tables appropriately to hold the gear you'll be dynoing in. Make sure you have a fan blowing on the front of the car with the hood open so you can keep your iat's consistent. Set a tight window for coolant temp. Finally, adjust your a/f ratio and timing till you get the best hp.... and torque curve. I like to start a little rich with the fuel and lean it out .3 at a time till i get the best power. Do the same with the timing, I add 2 degrees at a time. If say you make the same power with 26 degrees as you do with 28 degrees, go with the lower one. That's all i have off the top of my head right now.

When adjusting the timing, do you start with bumping the entire map up (or down), or do you just change parts of the map?

when tuning timing for wide open throttle you will only want to change total timing for where the engine is at on the timing table for this (probably 3000-3500 rpm and up to max rpm on the table and 70 kpa to 105 kpa approx.). logging during wot will confirm where to make changes. The lower part of your table should (idle to part throttle cruise) should already be dialed in pretty good before you get to wot tuning.

What type dyno?

Literally the only dyno in Wichita, not too sure. The guy there uses EFI live and knows a little about HP tuners. I have felt good with my tune, but am thinking that I may want to completely recheck my VE table, then move on to my MAF, then finish up with my timing tables.
