running computer fried

My little one spilled milk all over the tuning computer and I am unable to save it. It is literally in the trash at this point. I did take out the HD in case I need to get my tunes recovered somewhere.
anyhow, I am looking for a laptop that will work well with HP tuners. Please give me some advice on what you consider a good one and what you would buy. I want to keep my budget around 600 if that matters.
I will mainly be using it for tuning, internet browsing occasional. I have plenty of other devices to play on, still I want a reliable computer that will place nice with HPT.
