help with reading 6l80 PIDs

Perhaps a noob error, looking for help reading trans PIDS.

I have a 2009.5 G8, E38. I am working with a remote tuner who uses ls2edit (locked tune). Since I have a WB mounted in the car, I have been taking logs with HPT send to him and get back .LS2 updates. I went to add trans PIDS such as TCC SLIP, TCC PWM Duty cycle and get no data. I have reduced the scan to 10 parms so i know bandwidth ids ok. I am connected to the car, key on. The PTDs are black text which I suspect means they will not read (red one read).

Is it possible the ls2edit is keeping HPTscanner from reading some pids?

I know the data is there as my dashhawk can see it. Any constructive suggestions much appreciated.
