VSS Pulse Per Mile Limits? HELP!
Hi, this is my first post and i am still learning the ropes of tuning with HP. I have encountered a dilema in the speedometer calibration my 71 C10 that is currently getting a 5.3 from a 2000 silverado. I am running a 4l80e and have everything all wired correctly and have completed a segment swap. The 2000 PCM was calibrated for 3.73 gears and 30.84 inch tires. My truck has 4.56 gears and 27.01 inch tall tires which makes for a pretty quick moving driveshaft. I have calculated the Trans Revs Per Mile parameter to now be 3404.8826. Which this should be correct. The problem comes when I multiply this by 40 pulses per revolution to find the VSS Pulses Per Mile. I come up with 136,196. But the limit according to HP is only 129,XXX. I am open to any and all input. I have already contacted support and they said they had no answer. Btw this is an 896 PCM from the 2000 truck. I checked out other stock files and it appears the 0411 PCMs have the limit much higher. I would like to avoid licensing another PCM if possible. Thanks for the help In advance!
