L67 swap w/ L36 PCM questions

Im prepping everything for a L67 swap im doing in a guys car in a week or so.

The car is a 95 Regal coupe, using a 99 Monte Carlo L36 harness.

The question I have is can I easily use the L36 PCM and tune it to work 100% w/ the L67?? This will save me from extensive rewiring at the PCM connectors. I know either way I will have to add the signal wire for the SC boost control solenoid but im unsure if it will work with the L36 PCM.

I do see on ZZPs website that they offer a PCM tune for a 99 MC thats L67 swapped and they offer to mail the .hpt file. If I pay them for the file, will I have to pay to license it as well or whats the deal with that??

IIRC, the L36 PCM is the same as the L67, but you will definatly want to run a supercharged (L67) bin.

Since this is an engine swap in a pre OBDII car, I would verify PCM wiring by looking at a 99 L36 Monte Carlo and a 99 GTP to make sure the wiring is the same, then I'd try to flash the PCM with a 99 GTP bin and not worry about buying anything from ZZP.

If you purchase the hpt file form ZZP, I'm pretty darn sure you're still gonna need to license the vehicle.

Best I know there are a few wires that don't exist on the L36 harness like for the BBV solenoid and the L67 uses a 2bar vs a 1bar MAP but they physically interchange. Isn't the trans different (beyond the diff and chain) between an L36 and an L67?

The L67 as a HD output shaft and diff, along with different chain gears (the chain is the same). Other then that, the transmissions are the same.

Correct. The halfshaft on the dif-side of the transmission is different. I think that the other one is the same as the L36. I had to replace the tranny in my L36 Regal and I used a GTP tranny and wound up replacing just one of the halfshafts.

Well I already have the SC bypass solenoid wired in (pin 77, clear connector) and the MAP wires extended witth tthe proper pigtail.

There are a lot of wiring differences between the 99 Monte Carlo L36 and other 99 L67s

Im using a 03 Century 4t65e and doing a HD diff conversion to it. I have all the parts, just havent put them in yet.

Hmmm, im gonna double check wiring. I dont wanna mess with it much more. if its damn close, ill repin a few things and use a GTP PCMs. However I still wanna see if I can tune the MC PCM and have the bypass solenoid working. ZZP obviously does something that make it works
