P0102/103 are set to no error reported. That prevents it from going into speed density. I don't care how many trucks he's done.

Let tuner know what you said and he still doesn’t think it’s the tune. He sent me this pic saying that the tune for an 06 Tbss Speed Density
The MAF fail hz is only part of the process. You have to set the DTCs up correctly. They way yours are setup, it's keeping it from going into speed density. It HAS to set a P0103 code for it to go into speed density. If those codes are set to NO ERROR REPORTED it PREVENTS it from going into speed density.
Your tooner doesn't know what he's talking about.
All that being said, it doesn't mean that this is the cause of whatever issue you have. Without seeing a data log it's impossible to tell. But the fact that the cal is setup incorrectly, and he wants to argue with someone who knows far more than he does, that should tell you all you need to know.
Ok I understand what you’re saying. So since the truck can’t go into speed density it’s causing the popping/banging then causing the P0335 code to come on. Correct?
I don't know that. All I know is it's not setup correctly which means it's running off the MAF. Whether the MAF is dialed in correctly or not, I have no idea. But setting the MAF fail Hz to 1 or zero and then setting the codes up incorrectly is a potential problem.Quote:

This is from ALLDATA for DTC P0335. Under the Conditions For Running The DTC. Its seems like since the truck not going into speed density and not setting code P0103 is the cause for the P0335 code coming on.

Running means running the test or checking for a problem. It doesn't mean that the DTC is being set. The next line is what it has to see to set it.
OMG that has nothing to do with it. I can understand how you'd think so though. All that means, the criteria to set P0335, is that if it's in speed density, with the P0103 code set, under the same pop and bang situation, the code would not set. Has nothing to do with why or how that code is being set.
I know from experience that code can be set from an interruption in crankshaft speed. The most likely cause of the code is the popping, banging, whatever. You need to fix what's causing that and the code won't pop up no more.
You either have a calibration issue, or too much plug gap, or something causing a secondary ignition misfire. Again it's all speculation based on your description. Need a data log of it doing whatever it does.
And I'll go back to, if your tuner can't figure it out, if he's unable to diagnose this, you really need to find another tuner. Most of this job is diagnostics, troubleshooting. You have to be able to figure out why vehicles aren't running right.
The issue seems mechanical. Almost as if there is a coil or two not firing. Or, that popping you're hearing is a "lean pop" through the intake because of the MAF not being failed correctly. However, as everyone else here has stated, that speed density toon is just that, a toon. Speed density is NOT set correctly. Time to visit a seasoned tuner and get properly tuned.
Let tuner know and he is not convinced. Looks like I’ll be looking for a new tuner and spend more money lol. But better then needing an engine.
Anyone on here know a good tuner around the Denver area?
Next step is look into coils and plugs and try to figure out the popping/banging.

edcmat-l1 can remotely tune it better than most in person tuners.
If its popping and banging out the exhaust, look into your coils, coil harness, check spark plugs for micro cracks in the ceramic, or plug wires.
