Vehicle controls and special features / fuel cut out per cylinder / question

Hello,
I have developed a mis and I was using Vehicle controls and special features / fuel cut out per cylinder to isolate which cylinder might be missing. I get to cylinder 8 and its dead. No change in idle at all. The problem and my question is this. I use brake kleen on the header tubes to verify my findings and #8 is as hot as the rest, But #1 is almost ice cold. So #1 has got to be the cylinder with the mis. "right"? I double check the cutout test and #1 has a strong change in idle and #8 has no change at all.

My question is this: I am running a 2012 54x 5.3 block. and a 2003 p59 ecu, I have a ligenfelter 24x converter box hooked up and the motor was running great. All was good. Would the Lingenfelter box confuse the cutout test? If so wouldn't the firing order be all messed up?
Next question is do I have to do a crank relearn everytime I disconnect the battery? If so would that be the confusion to the cutout test?

Any help would be appreciated.

injector number in the scanner does not necessarily follow correct cylinders. its usually by the firing order, i have even had one that was backwards in firing order.

Whats the point of it not matching? kind of makes it useless to use it to diagnose or trouble shoot. Oh well. I know its #1 just have to find out why its dead now. new coil tested fine, new plug, new wire, got power to coil. head scratcher. I'll figure it out.

the controls are only accessing features that were designed within the factory setup. because the scanner works across many makes and models, it would require much more programming to dial things like this in, therefore they give us generic controls, its really not that hard to distinguish what injector is not firing when you use the scanner, and paying attention to the injector firing order in the tune

I want to learn and understand what you mean by this. So mine said it was #8 but it was Cylinder #1. If going By firing order that would mean cylinder #2 would be the 8th in the firing order right? Which still don't match what I get. Or am I missing something?

You have to look at the injector firing order in the calibration file
ls has 18726543 as the firing order, now some cals start on cylinder 1, which would be injector 1, others start at 8, ive seen some start at 6
so for the files that start at 8, injector 1 would be cyl 8, inj 3 would be cylinder 2, as the firing order would 87265431. Then there are the ones that i have found to be backwards, where injector 1 is cyl 3, injector 2 is cyl4. Again, this is a generic control accessing a 2way vehicle specific control. It is imperfect, however if you are logging misfires at the same time your using the injector controls, it will tell you exactly what cylinder is doing what
