Not really tuning related but I know a few smart guys on here can help me out. I am installing a fuel pressure sensor and need tap a 5 volt power source from somewhere. The easiest spot based on my installation would be from the maf sensor. My question is can tapping into the maf power cause any issues.
If this is not a good option can someone suggest the best place to get the 5v power from?

Tap the MAP. The MAF gets ignition power, not 5v.

Go get a LM7805 and wire it to switched 12v and ground. The remaining pin will be 5v. Done.

I don't like linear regulators, they're inefficient. I use switching technology instead. Besides, is not just the 7805, you need in/out filters (capacitors) isolation for temperature and humidity, protection for overcurrent, overvoltage, reverse current, heat dissipation, etc. etc. I wish it was that simple.
