"Device ID 0"
Does anybody ever get this when connecting with the scanner?
I have gotten it a couple times now on 2 different vehicles.
Scanner IssuesDevice ID 0
I have to manually enter the VIN
I do not get all the supported paramaters Such as spark retard, narrowband O2's and other pretty basic paramaters
Editor IssuesWhen I go to read or write to VCM, it asks for the VIN. I haven't noticed any other issues other than that yet
The first time it happened was on an 06 Dmax
and now its on a 1999 Grand Prix GTP.
Things I have done to try to eliminate hardware issues
1. Swapped out USP cords thinking that maybe I was getting enough noise or corrupt data that it was messing with the read and write process (yeah... it know its a stretch, but I had to do something)
2. Changed laptops.
a. When this happened the first time, I was convinced that it was a USB port or laptop issue because, well... even though it was a very high end Sony VAIO, it was getting a couple years on it. So.. I bought brand new Higher End Dell and installed it with the latest release of XP since at the time, Windows 7 was new and I didn't want that headache to deal with.
I'm basically just curious if this could be another hardware issue because Tech Support tried to help me when I couldn't scan the 06 Dmax, and nothing seemed to work.
